Coronavirus Response

CARE AMIDST THE CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)

In the midst of a global pandemic, we want to be a clear picture of God’s love across our city. One of the ways we can show God’s love is by participating in publicly endorsed strategies of containment, including social distancing. That’s why we’re not gathering together in person – because this is one of the best ways we can love others right now. At the same time, we don’t want to isolate people who are in need all around us. As a church together and as individual Christians, we want to care for others in any way that we can according to all the health and safety guidelines and recommendations made by government leaders and health professionals.

HOW CAN I BE INVOLVED IN THIS CHURCH-WIDE EFFORT TO HELP COMMUNITIES IN NEED?

 FRONT LINE MEALS:

Each week we will be delivering meals or snacks to those serving on the front lines:  Hospital workers, Police, and Fire Departments.  If you would like to help with cooking, delivering meals or know of a group that could use meals at this time please contact Teri Kubosh at
.  If you would like to help by donating monetarily please go to our website crossingaledo.com select Give Online and select Community Needs and put Front Line in the comments section.

TITUS 2 FOOD COLLECTION:

Titus2 Communities are a ministry of members of our church who provide housing and recovery support in Weatherford. Several of the residents of the Titus 2 homes have been laid off from work at this time and need help with groceries.  Please only purchase enough for one week at a time, since their storage space is limited.  We will let you know of any specific requests each week.

Food suggestions:  Milk, meat (chicken breasts, stew meat, etc.), bacon, sausage,  pancake mix, syrup, butter, canola oil, salad items-fresh vegetables (onion, bell peppers, cumin, jalapeno peppers), fruit, orange juice, cookies, cake icing, ranch dressing, bbq sauce, sour cream, pickles, frozen pizzas, other easy to bake frozen entrees.

When signing up your group will be responsible for purchasing and delivering the food for the week to the homes in Weatherford.  If you need extra refrigeration or freezer space for storage until delivery contact Teri or Shannon, and they will assist you.

WHO CAN BE INVOLVED IN THIS CHURCH-WIDE EFFORT TO HELP COMMUNITIES IN NEED?

We strongly encourage those who are more at-risk in light of the coronavirus (COVID-19), particularly the elderly and those with current medical conditions or compromised immune systems, to stay at home as much as possible during this time. In addition, if you have any symptoms of sickness or have been exposed to anyone who is sick, you are not permitted to be a part of this work. Please stay at home and contact a medical professional, as appropriate. Finally, for various reasons, we are requiring all who are involved in this effort to be at least 12 years old.

HOW ARE WE ENSURING SAFETY WHEN PACKING AND/OR DELIVERING CARE PACKAGES?

We are working within CDC guidelines for safety and sanitation in all that we are doing. From hand washing and sanitizing to using gloves and following guidelines for social distancing in the packing process, we are undertaking these efforts with extreme sensitivity to sanitary, medical, and safety concerns for those who are packing, delivering, and/or receiving care packages.
